The entirety of Marx's writings was about liberating man from bourgeoise
slavery. Marx felt man had been "duped", by opiating influences and "commodity
fetishism", to support a system that left the majority powerless, and
specifically left the individual out of control of his own labor (forgive the
sexist lingo). I don't have a specific citation off the cuff, but any read of
any of Marx's writings show his concern (however misguided you believe it to
be) was for liberty, for freedom.
