Along with everything else I teach, I teach art and music to my class. I see the same thing, and our students have been in a constructivist environment since K. It is more than just schools. I think parents are promoting this, as is society.
Joy/NC/4 How children learn is as important as what they learn: process and content go hand in hand. http://www.responsiveclassroom.org ----- Original Message ---- From: Renee <[email protected]> I really think this is a direct result of way too much direct instruction and focus on "the right thing" and "the right answer" and not enough discovery and/or inquiry. I base this, of course, on my own deductions relating to the degree of "is this right?" behavior among different classes (I taught 24 classes last year) and my impressions of their regular classroom teachers' teaching styles. Very unscientific, to be sure. :-) _______________________________________________ Mosaic mailing list [email protected] To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/mosaic_literacyworkshop.org.
