Agreed. And I like that. Empty trash deletes the mail from the server 
(in my case, I use POP mail, keeping messages at server, delete messages 
on server when deleted from local machine).

But why should it also compact the folder? Compacting folders is a 
separate option and should be kept that way. Leave it to me when to 
compact. I don't like the fact that everytime I empty trash, Mozilla 
compacts my 8MB+ Inbox file. Waste of time.

This "feature" started appearing in recent builds. This wasn't the 
behaviour before. What changed it? Know of any bug nos?
