Hello Minneapolis Folks, and Jim Graham: Jim Graham Wrote: "Since we are on the subject of "Voting", how about the 'anti-war resolution supporters doing more than accusing others of lacking moral fortitude. Show some of their own. Cathy Leighton offered the perfect vehicle and one that would put real teeth into the anti-war resolution. Have those who are militantly anti-war start a petition drive to have a referendum on the ballot where all of Minneapolis votes."
Ken Bradley Writes: A: The suggestion of voting between the anti-war resolution and happy hour was to point out the rediculious irony of such a suggestion. I stated in the same post that some folks like to discuss their favorite resteraunt. That particular subject matter was not my cup of tea but that did not mean people shouldn't discuss it. I delete those messages and we all have that same option like changing the channel or not watching at all. No one forces us to read other peoples issues and no one should be so militant about suppressing issues that are important to others. I was also looking for a good place to go for happy hour. Maybe you could join me and other militants in a cold frosty beverage. B: A referendum seems like an even less effective use of peoples time. Please answer these three questions (Jim or Carol) 1)Do you believe the President will delay the war until the next election. 2)Will you help gather signature for such a process? 3) Do you believe local officials should not express an opinion (which voting for the anti-war resolution clearly represents) to any other level of government.
