Jon,

Once again, you miss my point, the effects of racism cannot be packaged as
"episodic", or reactions such as yours that it's "really not a big deal"
tells me that it perhaps you truly don't understand the implications of such
offensive comments/behavior and how costly such positions/comments are on
our society.  I'm not arguing that we discuss this ad nauseum, rather that
we as a society begin to truly acknowledge that racism exists, and has
caused much pain and will continue to do so.  Perhaps if you had offered
"well, I hear from you that racism is a difficult issue, and that we can
work together to solve this blight", I might have an easier time with
"really not big deal" comments such as yours.
