I agree that they are as easy to get. Even more, if you can't get a DB9
connector, you simply can't build your network cable since you need one
anyway to connect to the MSX.

This however is very dangerous. Since there are two female connectors on the
cable, which both can be plugged into the MSX, you will have the risk that
people will plug the wrong one in their MSX. And believe me, if errors like
this one can be made, they will be made! Please let not get us in the same
kind of mess as the computer industry got into with the serial cables (null
modem, DTR<->CTR, DTR<->DTR fully wired, etc.) or with the SCSI cables
(25-pin RS232 like connectors, large 50 pin centronics, small 50 pin
centronics, 50 pin ribbon with screws, 50 pin ribbon with clips, etc.)!

I still think that we should have only one DB9 connector. And on the other
side two connectors with support for at least 3 signals and the ground. One
connector female and the other one male. I don't care that much about the
type. It need not necesarily be tulip connectors as I suggested in my first
memo. It can also be something different. How about DIN connectors? Are they
still widely available? They used to be back in the 70's for audio equipment
but there they have been superseeded by the tulip connectors. At least, in
the home audio industry. I believe that the pro's still work with DIN so that
should perhaps be a very viable choice instead.

Kind regards,
