] But... are more than 2 computers so useful? I mean, TRIPLEX was big fun, but
] most people won't have more than 2 computers
You are right. Most people only have 1 MSX computer. However, the big fun of
supporting more computers then only 1 is that you can take your computer and
network cable to an MSX club and play there. And people can set-up
multiplayer game competitions at MSX fairs. To keep the public longer there
and make computing more joyfull and fun to them (oh, oh, I'm starting to
sound like Bill Gates)

] and most games (that's what I
] think this thingie is going to be used for mainly) won't work with more than
] 2 players. At least not my game.
I can image that your game does not support more then 2 players. Because the
thought of supporting more then 2 players never crossed your mind. But now
that you know of the possibility, you should really think about supporting
more then two players.

But still, I agree that we can use different kind of protocols for different
situations. For example a fast 2-computer protocol for games that only
support 2 computers at the same time. And a less fast multi-computer protocol
for games that support more computers at the same time.

And we can define one common api for programs that have to communicate. Like
those games. Or file transfer programs. Or any other kind of programs. Let's
revive MSX with this network feature.

Kind regards,
