However, I've learned that the YIS-805 /does/ support the SFG module - in fact, the networking module that the Russian MSXs are fitted with is a modified SFG, the network using MIDI for communication! Going rate is around $150 for a YIS-805, so it's also a little cheaper. So I won't be modifying my CX5MII/128, I'm hoping that I can get a YIS- 805, and I have found (hopefully) a disk drive from Iwein at a good price to get my machine working for music just now!
