Hi Bob, I will discuss proper operation of filters and such with you later but
first I wanted to help you get the zoom right, because it is designed for what
you are doung and works well.

You said that "Zooming into one of [your views] sets the zoom for all of them."
It sounds as though you are using the option to synchronize zooms across
workspaces. Right click on the tab for a workspace where you plan to zoom and
select something like "setup workspace". (Sorry I can't be more precise but I'm
away from my desktop). Look for an option that says something like "sync zoom"
and turn it off. You may see another option like "sync selection" - it seems
that you may have that on as well, you could play with it and see if you like
the behaviour better with this one on or off.

Zoom sync is a wonderful tool for example if you are managing multiple projects
and you have a series of project management views like
What should I do next
Is anything overdue
What starts tomorrow
Do I have any phone calls to make
Etc

Rather than making a copy of each view for each project, you can just make a
set of views with zoom synch. Then, when you zoom to a project for one view
they all switch to viewing that same project. But if you have zoom synch
enabled when you don't really want it, you get problems like the one you
described.
