Hello Jennifer, There is another way to try to get it out, but you have to have an extremely steady hand (which most nail techs do). Find something with a diamiter a little smaller than the shank of your efile. I'm wondering if a Q-tip would do the trick. Try the stick of a Q-tip with the cotton ends removed. If that will touch the broken end of the drill bit, without touching the sides of the shank, it's the right size. If not, do some brainstorming to find something small enough to fit into the shank without touching the sides. Then, make sure your handpiece is in the position that it would release the drill bit if it hadn't broke. Put a tiny dot of nail glue on the end of the Q-tip stick (or whatever you can find to use), and insert it into the handpiece until it touches the broken end of the drill bit. The broken end will then be glued to the stick and should come right out. The downside to trying this is: you have to be very careful not to use too much glue, and not to touch the sides of the inside of the shank, or you will end up with glue on the inside of the shank, and possibly end up gluing the broken piece into the shank. That could end up costing more to fix. Wish I was there to try it for you...I've actually done this when I had a key break off in the lock of my car trunk and was too cheap to pay the locksmith to fix it. Good Luck!
