Jennifer,
OH thank goodness.  It is so not hard to do, just hard to explain. Now that you
have done it once you are good to go.  Of course like my luck it will be
something else the next time.  I am still puzzled that you got no maintence
info or tools with yours.  I bought a new hand piece to have a spare and got
all that with it too.  There are even new motor brushes for the handpiece  and
fuses for the base unit.  All Kupa.  I just figured that they all came with
that stuff. Anyway glad to know it is fixed.  Now I can skip the how thw heck
does this scanner work again<LOL>
Happy Filing
Merry Christmas

I am not sure the number on the handpiece. I have the up200 unit. it cost in
the neighborhood of 375$ when I got it about 7 years ago The piece that
unscrews is right where the bit enters, There is a step down that has straight
sides on it. I dont have it here to be able
to better describe,  it is at work.  I will call my boss and see if it is ok to
stop in and get my stuff and I can scan it and send it maybe. Seems odd that
you didn't get any info with yours.  I even got the same page of info when I
sent the hand piece for service once. I wont be able to get back to you until
after 8pm as we have an engagement but I will do what I can.
Dawn

Hi Dawn I did not get any manual with the e-file I have the Kp-36 hand piece .
Are you sure it unscrews ??? My husband tried to twist it apart but it d id not
budge I did not want him to man handle it and break it apart I can't see where
it comes apart. I am could not imagine trying the glue idea sounds too
dangerous its bad enough I've glued myself to people a couple of times in the
past but they did"nt charge me LOL This drill cost a few hundred $$$ I can not
afford to freak it up Let me know if thats the hand piece your talking about
before we start twisting at it Thank You !!!!   Jennifer

Oh Jennifer,
hold on. Don't Panic>>> you can get it out w
ithout sending  it for service.  The end of the shaft the bit fits into
unscrews and you can get the broken piece out.  Did you get a small screwdriver
and a flat wrentch with your unit?  The wrench has a triangular whole in it.
That is the piece that will unscrew the end.  There should be also a page of
instructions for some minor maintence and how it all comes apart.  Take a look
at what you got with yo ur drill and if you arent too mechanical there has to
be a guy in your world/area that  is mechanical enough can help you out.. Where
in the east are you? Maybe one of us is close enough to help
Good luck hope you can get it figured out.
