Thought for the Day
The only people you should want to get even with are those who have
helped you.

I am looking for 1930s, 1940s and 1950s cookbooks. I am trying to add
some old fashioned recipes to my sites and need old cookbooks and
pamphlets for this purpose. If you have any to sell at a reasonable
price please let me know.
Nancy (I send out this daily newsletter.)

=====================

My mother made this recipe in York, Pa. in the 1930's & 40's.

Pennsylvania Dutch Pot Pie:
2 to 3 cups of leftover chicken or roast beef, boil in 2 quarts of
water, until you have a nice broth. Also add any leftover gravy.
Alternate layers of homemade dough and potatoes.

Pot Pie Dough:
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup water
mix thoroughly and add enough flour that can be rolled out flat about
1/8" thick. Cut into 2" squares.

Peel potatoes and quarter them or make about 1-1/2" pieces.

Make sure meat & broth are boiling as you drop in the dough or dough
will stick together. Add 1 Tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon parsley.

Yummy & economical
