To Denise from Barlett Tx, (April 19th newsletter)
I can't tell you what is possibly going wrong with your funnel cakes
but I can give you the recipe I use which has worked for me every
time.

Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes
2 cups milk
2eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar

Beat together the milk and eggs. Slowly beat in flour, baking powder,
salt and sugar. Pour through funnel into hot fat or vegetable oil at
375 degrees using thermometer. Quickly turn over the pieces. Drain on
paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. (If you don't have a
funnel, drop dough slowly off large spoon moving batter about.) Hope
you have better luck.
