My, what a rant. I was just curious as to the workings of the Amiga
system.

As it happens, I did reboot my Amiga after installing. It's logical.
Library is in memory, it's a good idea to flush it, get the new version,
have the assigns set up for you, etc.

Incidentally, no I don't switch the Amiga off at night, just like I don't
switch off the Linux box. It does happen to be serving ftp, but the main
reason is to mislead people playing a certain strategic/action game here
at uni as to my sleeping habits. I just love the StrICQ ARexx port.

I usually get the Amiga to run 2 or 3 days before MicroDOT messes
everything up. I posted a bug report earlier about it, but it didn't seem
to be taken seriously (or the md2 mailing list was the wrong place), so
I'm going to see about getting some more evidence/circumstances first.
First glance indicates that MD2 forgets to close various nntp connections.

Oh, the joys of lambda calculus - one of the few subjects where you can stare
at a problem for an hour before realising it is really really simple. And then
repeat for the next question.
