firstly, he doesn't have to stop coding existing projects, he only has
to compile an NC2 version of MD 1.4.4. Secondly, why shouldn't he take
time to fix it, it was his bug? It's not like no one knew the
millennium was going to happen, it's been expected for two thousand
years :-O

The program was unable to function correctly less than a year after its
release. It could be argued that forcing people ot upgrade this soon
because of a built in time bomb is unethical. I don't believe for one
minute that that was Olii's intent. But software shouldn't expire after
ten months, it should be fixed.

Would you say the same if *your* version stopped working in six months
and you were told it would cost �35 to fix it?

People may switch to an alternative program if they feel hard done by,
depriving him of more upgrade income.
