O.K. Then why do people upgrade? My C64 should've been upgraded to an
A4000 and my 286 to a PIII for free? My point is if people don't upgrade
programmers have no incentive to make their product better. I mean Chris
even said in a post to csam that sells were lousy. If they're barely
making any money on their current releases how can you expect them to fix
older ones?

Let me see, as flawed as the NC3 CD's? I preordered mine, had it within
days of release coming from across the pond, and there were updates
already on the VaporWare Portal before I even opened it, yet people were
screaming left and right, "We want a replacement CD". I truely wish I
could understand this.

I'm not sure what British Leyland is, but 1.) switch to another "brand" or
2.) continue to support what current. It doesn't matter if it was 1999 or
20 years ago, Olli and a handful of others have released a product that
remedies this problem. Were they not faithful in giving NC2 periodic
updates? (4 if I recall correctly).

Yeah, they've all got their quirks. I mean the second to last one on the
list doesn't even have a mailing list.

I would be pissed, but updates have been promised to us. How many? Who
knows, when they feel that they've improved upon a product enough to gain
customer loyalty, they expect to make more money, you can either support
them if you feel you've got your money's worth or you can take your
business elsewhere. I don't remember being promised Y2K compatability
back in '98 when I purchased NC2. However, it was delivered in the latest
version, and that is all that can realistically be expected. It's not
like there's 100's of programmers working on this. This isn't as some
call it "the Microsoft mentality". It's simply a programmer feels like
they've improved upon a product to a point where they feel they deserve
more money for their product. I can understand why somebody who has
barely used NC2 would feel cheated, but I used it for nearly two years and
have a sense of great customer satisfaction.
