Even the educated (which is a miniscule minority anyway) fail to see
the
assault on their freedom by changes in standards, copyright and ip
laws,
genetic and medical products etc. In fact a complete ignorance of
technology
as it shapes the air, water, food and thought within their heads.
Like Free Software, this pattern of behaviour also comes from the US.
I call it, "Get rich quick by changing the law".
Do we need a membership drive?
Lol. But how about an awareness drive? If people believe in what we
say and stand for - you will not need the membership drive.
Perhaps, we can engage a SIG in this that throws light on issues so
that they can be discerned by the mango-man. Lokayat sounded like one
such story that can be developed here. And I'm totally ready to carry
links of their post on my FB status. I'm sure there are plenty of
others.
