Not really -- Niyam has articulated the issues with moving to a FOSS-
based workflow cogently.  To me it's clear that unless the issues he 
raised can be handled, sheer enthusiasm, policy and tool quality are not 
enough to insert FOSS into a creative workflow.  If you want someone in 
the creative industry to switch to FOSS, you have to strategically 
tackle change management and training before anything else.

Just because it's "the best" doesn't mean that it will be used.  The 
problem is much, much deeper than that.
