Yeah, that's how I did it last time, it's still a pain. I was thinking Honda
employed 3-armed gorillas to install them at the factory.

You have to heat them up with a heat gun and they get real pliable. They
will take a lot of heat before any damage. Often thay get to hot to touch so
it's a balencing act

Taking them off isn't the part I'm reluctant to do. Its fighting those
damn Y-shaped intake tubes back on that I'm sweating.

Seems like the wrong T fitting. I've rehabed 3 or 4 sets of these

All I can guess is that the previous had to replace that fitting
at one point and just grabbed whatever was handy. The bike came with its share

I'm not sure why the two fittings would be different sizes. I
have a couple of the old and age hardened oem lines that are only about 6" long

So I'm aright in assuming the nipple on the 'T' between the
carbs should be the same as the one on the fuel shut off valve right? I really
need someone in Phx to slap the previous owner for me...

Mine(replaced when I did carbs in spring) is 1/4".
Originally probably metric between 1/4 and 5/16. The breathers are the same. I
have 2 sets in the garage now and the fittings are the same as I have on tha
bike now.

While messing around on the bike I decided to clean up
the fuel line. The one it came with had what I assumed was a brass coupler in
the middle of it for some reason. I took it off, and it's not a coupler, it's
threaded on one end. Got to looking at it, and the white plastic 'T' between
the #2 and #3 carbs where the fuel line hooks up is bigger than 5/16". The
previous owner must have fancied this brass thingy as a reducer of some sort.
I've got plenty of 5/16" fuel hose, and could run a new one, but it won't hook
up to the carbs. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Shouldn't it be 5/16"
all around or is this the plastic 'T' on my carbs the wrong one?
