My '84 CB650SC had an intermittent/occasional problem with the ignition
switch. It would run fine for weeks and then suddenly quit while riding. I
would flick the kill button, turn the ignition switch on and off, and away
I'd go. Finally discovered that if I turned the ignition switch firmly as
far as possible to the on position - even without turning it off - that it
would work again. It is possible to clean/polish the contacts, but I
replaced mine. $100 from Honda. Wiggling the wiring harness behind the
fuse box would also cause movement of the wires to the ignition switch.
