Coming from a violent country such as Venezuela where you can get robed at any corner, I would have a much different reaction in this situation, with probably much worse consequences. But I guess we could argue for days about weather the cop was too rude, should he show the badge and then the gun, or not taking the gun out, etc. The real issue here is the state law that makes filming a police a felony. Really? 5 years? I am sure there are murderers that have been in jail similar periods of time. The other issue that I see is the abuse of power. It is not like the guy with the camera was suing the police for his actions (which I am sure he could do with a good lawyer). He just posted the video in youtube. So, why do the police will make a case against him? one, because they can. Second, I think, because the police guy felt humiliated by the video appearing on the internet, so he is looking for vendetta. The funny thing is that now the video has been shown in national television and even more people are talking about it. Clearly, the driver deserves his license being taking off just for being such an ass whole. I know a many good and responsible drivers that pay a fortune for the insurance of their sport bikes just because of morons like this one.
