I used almostly exclusivly regular gas in my 250... However in the wing i try to use premium gas... I am getting about 37mpg on premium and 28 on regular... No, lower octane shouldn't cause issues like this. At most, you'd hear a lot of pinging, and feel less power. OTOH, I use low octane gas in my 700SC, and haven't had any issues with it.
