Hello all I started riding about a year and a half ago. My first bike was (and is: it's not running but i believe it will be again) a 1984 Honda Nighthawk 650 and even though it wasn't much to look at, it really pleased me on the road. Other than limited range, which has been a problem out in the desert states where i spend a lot of time.
My second bike is a 1992 Nighthawk 750 with 22K on it. Again, I considered a lot of other bikes but knew i couldn't go too wrong with another Nighthawk, and it has a significantly bigger range, slightly more power, and actually looks good, so once again I'm very pleased. Questions from a beginner: 1. How do you oil the chain? it's mostly hidden. right now I plan on rolling it in neutral while my wife sprays on "PJ1 blue label" chain lube (product ok?) at the successively exposed part of the chain. I bought what they told me was a good chain, a sealed o-ring type. 2. What level of gas is recommended? seems like there's really no consensus..regular or premium. 3. Sissy bar bags: I bought this bike appreciative of the fact that it has what seems to be the most common sissy bar already installed, the one that's pretty short, with a little zippered pocket opposite the backrest. Any recommendations for a medium to larger capacity sissy bar bag? I don't know how to post pictures here or I would. I guess I could do picassa and make it public? I'll try that and post the link.
