Ditto on the center stand - lubing the chain is virtually impossible
with one person without it.
I traditionally have tried to lube mine before a ride - I
usually put the NH on the center stand and allow the bike to idle
(usually before it has come up to temperature so the idle is even
slower than normal) and sprayed whatever chain lube I was using.
I have traditionally gone to a bike shop to get whatever they
prefer - but I have used Napa brand chain lube without trouble as
well.
