LOL! I have a Nissan Versa that has sort of the same problem. The oil filter is horizontally mounted in the front, near the radiator. You have to come from above, making your arm wave through this very complicated path, and once I get there, my arm is trapped and I can't turn the filter. It is a real PITA.
