Hey guys Im currently debating purchasing my first bike, which is an 85
Nighthawk 650 (Ive been hunting for a nighthawk).
I went to go check it out and it runs (im no mechanic though). Its in
decent cosmetic shape, though I would want to replace the rear signal
stems, recover the seat (It's not terrible just could be nicer), and I
definitely want to replace the exhaust.
I found a tad excessive rust on the the underside of the pipes (I think its
on the pipes). Ive been trying to find OEM exhaust systems but I guess
parts of it are discontinued? How much should it cost to replace the
exhaust? Would I need an aftermarket one? Any recommendations?
The guy wanted $1500 and I talked him down to 1200 (told him I didn't see
my self paying more than 1100 lol). Does this sound like too much for the
bike? Also If I get it Im going to want to bring it in to get the carbs
cleaned and Im also going to want to replace all the fluids etc, give it a
nice tune up....
Oh yeah it has ~20k miles
