while i did not supply the year of the bike, i did provide a detailed list of 
what worked and what didnt work in my original post allen.

thanks much for affirming that the neutral safety swtich and the kill switch 
both have the same function, but my problem is something where no power goes to 
anything except the starter and thats only by bridging the terminals in the 
starter relay.
im going to try checking out the terminals in the back of the fusebox like a 
couple of the other users in this thread suggested.

To my knowledge both the kill switch and the kickstand are ground interrupt 
switches for the coil. Do you have a wiring diagram? Do you get lights, or 
nothing at all? A detailed list of what works and what doesn't would help us 
figure out your bike's issue.
