@Krunch yes, neutral light and the indicator show that I am indeed in neutral. 
I'll do my best to trace the wires, but it may require cutting through some 
insulation. I think the previous owner got carried away with taping the 
harness.. Hopefully I can figure out something quickly without getting too deep.
@Tommy yea nothing happens whatsoever. The starter doesn't turn, there is no 
sound coming from anything. The headlight and all the other lights work fine.. 
It seems to happen more often cold, but I haven't really tried out that theory 
as again, I haven't really used it all that often since I'm afraid of getting 
stuck at the gym or work. When it does happen, I really am just stuck there 
twiddling my thumbs trying it every few minutes, shifting up and down and 
pushing the bike around until it works. I was able to bump start it in this 
condition, I don't know if that helps or hurts.
