Think we can talk them into extending it to Hopkinsville? :) I think the reason they need an OK from the local govt has to do with franchise laws and the way that your local cable company has a legally enforced monopoly. They basically have to get some sort of license to compete in the market. AT&T was recently trying to get some sort of VOD over IP going here, but they were in danger of being sued since they don't have a cable franchise in the city.
