Money is one part of the influence equation, and really not that big. Any of these companies have enough money to buy whatever legislation they want. I've pointed this out before, but on the federal level, it takes around $200K to turn a congressman into the rough equivalent of a brainless puppet that will do or say anything that you tell it to. Any of these companies have that kind of money. What Comcast and AT&T have that sets them apart from Google is a long history of intense lobbying, and the connections that go along with it. That's invaluable, and will take Google a long time to get together.
