In a pinch teamviewer is good. You just tell them to go to the site, it
installs an activex or something like that then they get a number, you download
the activex on your PC and input the number and you connect to their PC.

Thanks. I don't plan on doing regular connection to remote users' PCs, but
there are times (such as one case recently where the user was having problems
with Outlook) where you are really ham-strung because you can't see what the
remote user is seeing. I'll look at showmypc.

I purchased one license of Logmein Pro to put on my home PC, which then
allowed me to put Logmein Free on my clients PC's (with their permission, of
course). This gave me full access at any time.

Showmypc works in a pinch, but if it is going to be a regular or daily task,
I would go the Logmein route.

Hey, guys. since I'm having to support remote users by phone, I thought I
might be able to do a better job if I had some sort of way to log into the
user's computer from remote. Since I'm behind a firewall and some users may be
behind a router, I figure something like GoToAssist or LogMeIn Rescue might be
the answer. It looks like GTA is less expensive than LMIR. Any thoughts as to
which would be the better option for a single tech to support lots of remote
users?
