I have my original A+ (somewhere) from back when I did on site warranty work for our customer. I use gmail primarily for this and a few other lists. No other reason.
As to venting, it was specific and low key. Solicit feedback on what that director means when they say you have lacked the 'enterprise' focus. The wonderful thing about words is they can mean a lot of things. The awful thing about context is that it can be lost of mis-understood when information is conveyed. If this person is normally fair, ask them specifically what they would like to see you focus on to establish this 'Enterprise' track record. It may truly be you have done the work you say you have but failed to present it within a context that the director understands. If that's the case, you have some learning to do. If not, well, choices and an improving economy make risk evaluation fun. And we as a list also can celebrate a new Bob on the list, or a new improved Don as he has evidently upgraded to display as Bob.
