Hell, even the source code is no longer buildable if one tries to follow
the broken documentation[1] on the OpenSolaris site. A web site which is
also entirely controlled by internal folks owned by Oracle. I'm surprised
you people are not walking around in jack boots by now.

As the responsible engineer who picked up that CR, made
the changes and pushed them so three days ago, I take
exception to your swipe.

The "taken internal" aspect is that the correct place to
file bugs against the documentation which is contained
within the onnv-gate is bugster. The external interface
to that is bugs.opensolaris.org - not defect.opensolaris.org.

I cannot file an RTI for onnv-gate against a bug that's in
defect.opensolaris.org and not bugs.opensolaris.org. You are
on the interest list for that CR. The suggested fix was put
into the public comments field so it shows up in the wild at
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6964464

Here is the changeset
http://hg.genunix.org/onnv-gate.hg/rev/0a254b4b5ca4
and here are the diffs for the file which you logged the bug
about:

http://hg.genunix.org/onnv-gate.hg/diff/0a254b4b5ca4/usr/src/tools/opensolaris/README.opensolaris.tmpl

As other contributors to this thread have mentioned, there are
people outside Oracle/Sun who have managed to figure out how to
build onnv-gate, and who do so regularly. Several people I'm
aware of run multiple builds every day, on both sparc and x86,
so if they can do it, I don't see why you can not.
