You could also write out the "standard" method of character creation, in your own words, and the odds are that WotC won't try and sue you... they'll just out-sell you. :) An important thing to remember is that the OGL lets you quote verbatium from any OGC--so, rather than re-wording "fireball" you can just use "fireball" as-is in the SRD.
