Tru but they do not then get published with a licence that says that you can freely 
copy bits. I think the OGL is great, it allows you to make some stuff available and it 
allows you to protect other stuff. That second bit is essential.

Sorry I need to point out that you have got confused with the two Steve Jackson's in 
the industry. We have the licence to convert the Fighting Fantasy books to d20, these 
where produced by the BRITISH Steve Jackson (the same guy that founded Games 
Workshop). Steve Jackson Games is run by the US Steve Jackson, someone completely 
different.

I am not turning anything on it's head, I am just concerned about the protective 
aspects of the licence as well as the collaborative elements. They both need to be 
equally strong in order for the licence to continue to flurish.
