I've just read the FAQ and have a question based on the xp restrictions. You
can only
put d20 logo if your product does not mention how to do character creation
or how
to advance levels.

So does that infer that you can explain about xp and creation if you don't
display the logo
or mention in any way that it uses the d20 system?

I fully understand the implications in terms of been able to create your own
modules /
campaign settings / monsters etc etc since none of these need to mention
level advancement
and can point to the PHB for that.

However I can't quite understand how you could create your own system based
on d20
since if you built your own world, monsters rules etc you would be stuck
with requiring
players to buy the PHB just to read about the xp advancement.

My interests are in the monsters campaign bit, but the xp question is just
bugging me a little :)

Also if I developed an online mud that used the dnd world either my own
campaign realm
or based on a realm that was freely released would I be able to use the full
xp advancement
rules and creation but not let the players see how it was been done?

That would be fine for rolling stats etc as I could just say you have 15,
14, 16 etc however
it would be useful for players to see how many xp they are from next
level... this would not
be allowed under the d20 system would it? Or would it so long as I don't
display the d20
logo? (which would seem strange as you are in effect not giving credit for
where the system
originated)

Any help appreciated... email me if I've not explained something correctly
and I'll try and
clarify it...

bb.
