But from the web site it's not clear that the Action!System is going to have anything to do with Open Gaming. In fact, as currently proposed, the approach seems to be closer to Wizards' internet policy or Steffan O'Sullivan's FUDGE than to open gaming. Realize that, as described, it's not clear if there is a way for anyone to use other people's material without entering into separate & explicit legal agreements. The only thing that seems to go through all three logos is whatever is the core of the Action! System. But if you develop some cool new idea off of that core and publish it using Action!Ready, it would appear that anyone wanting to use your new idea would need to use Action!Approved, since they're now using another person's IP. If that's the case, then even Action!Ready isn't really about Open Gaming. The other two logos have little chance of being about Open Gaming. (For what it's worth, the D20 logo really isn't about Open Gaming either since Wizards uses it on products that have nothing to do with Open Gaming. The D20 logo is about connecting to a specific game system rather than open gaming. The OGL on the other hand IS about open gaming.) But it's really too early to even start talking about the Action! System. There just isn't enough information available. And from Mark's responses, it's fairly clear that he can't discuss the concept in detail. Then again, he didn't bring it to the lists attention in the first place. Since he's on the list, one would assume if they were interested in the opinions of the list they'd have raised the issue themselves. alec _______________________________________________ Ogf-l mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/ogf-l
