Reginald There is no trouble for me. I would create it, use it properly and let the others decide how to properly use it. The Open Game community would then probably openly condemn (I hope) any one that used it contrary to the way it was intended and that would be represent a portion of a product that contained OPEN material. It could be 1% or it could be 100% since the OGL does not recognize a difference.
You could look at it like this as well. As a game manufacturer it is my job to make games that sell...at its most basic level, I own a business and the first obligation a company has, the most single important thing is to make a profit (as stated in almost ANY proper business plan). If a logo increases my sales by .5% with no negative consequences we would be fools for not doing it. So, yes, I would have absolutely NO problem using a logo to boost my buying power. I also feel that many times there is a need to organize the large quantities of releases. With everyone recreating the wheel, maybe it is time for a couple groups to get organized and share the same wheel (the reason why I suggested making Icons that suggest co-compatibility with other rule sets). Not only does it benefit us (we do not have to spend time or money writing it, but we can help our consumers find larger groups of TRULY compatible games! So in the end I also wish this for ethical reasons. Have a good day! Richard Stewart Sanguine Productions Ltd. I see that as being your core problem. Actually, it's not my problem. ;) Someone here wants an icon strictly for OGL to boost buying power. I simply point out the potential for trouble. _______________________________________________ Ogf-l mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/ogf-l _______________________________________________ Ogf-l mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/mailman/listinfo/ogf-l
