The DP to HDMI cable works only on a DP++ - a dual mode DP port. Thats a
port which got an HDMI encoder, but the electrical interface is a CML
type one (same as in DP and PCIe). The cable then contains a "level"
shifter.
You have to lookup a HDMI to DP converter chip, which does a little bit
more than just level conversion!

GEth's cool. But you might want to specify display port rather than
hdmi due to the licensing costs. DP's royalty-free and DP->HDMI cables
are sufficiently available.
