Assalamualaikum and salam sejahtera, I have reading numbers of email regarding the Open Source Software (OSS) and our government in this list and we know how hard to get OSS into the government selection and option.
I keep on asking myself, why? Why our policy makers hard to to get OSS as the main and important option in selection of software and the answer is only one ...( err may be two points) We have money to buy proprietary and we don't care how much we going to spend because its not our money. Wow its hit me. After having sahur with nasi and sambal ikan sardin ... Its not about Government money its about our money. The Rakyat. If Rakyat (people) know how much that we have spend to buy other software rather then OSS and much its can be save and what OSS can do to build our nation... I believe its will change the policy and perspective ... We should focusing in convincing The Rakyat the benefit of OSS and making sure that The Rakyat will pressure our government OSS should be the main and important option in selection of software. How ? We should discuss this When ? Now ... We should get The Rakyat know right away What ? Its all about people power of selection of choices Who ? We are. We are The Rakyat. Where ? Every state and every where. Set our target right, and we should get this done properly....
