Hi Michael,

many thanks for your hard work. Though it would be nice for us who follow 
submissions to the repository from the sideline to have a small meaningful 
comment with each commit. A short description of why the code was changed 
would be welcome.

I'm currently maintaining an in-house git repository here, which would 
really benefit from commit messages.
