  I would be interested in seeing this fixed to facilitate a good clean 
animated character
art asset pipeline that several of my clients apparently need in the near 
future. If
anyone wants to tackle this, please get in touch with me and we can discuss how 
much
effort it might be. I'm probably not enough of an FBX _or_ bone expert to fix 
this myself.
