A couple of things to say here. First, I think DateBk3
has support for daylight savings, I am sure has support
for time zones.
Secondly (and more importantly) who gives a bleep about
"automatically"? It would be nice if the OS had the
concept of Timezones (& daylight savings) -at all-.
I would really love it if there were a prefs panel that
I could set my timezone (PST: GMT-8) and a checkbox for
DST. If I went to New York, I could go to prefs and
set the TZ to EST and set it back to PST when I returned
home. Twice a year I would have to go to prefs and check
or uncheck the DST box. This would be -heaven-.
Right now the displayed time exactly matches the system
time. If I go to New York I have to change the system
time and wait while the darned thing checks all my
datebook appointments. Same for setting the clock
ahead or back for DST.
Decoupling the "base time" from the "effective time"
w/ 24 timezones and a checkbox would be a very nice
addition to the PalmOS -- regardless of whether it
was "automatic" or not!
