Its a guideline in accordance with page 45 of the Palm OS Programmer's Companion, but 
a little-known requirement from a PalmOS
implementation perspective. PalmOS 3.5 has brought the issue to the fore given its 
extended checking.

IMHO: I think that Palm should look at removing the restriction given that its not 
appropriate as a standard e.g. how about
displaying a 'progress' style of dialog? (something that's close to my heart!) 
Progress messages typically center on the screen as is
the case with the Palm Applications Launcher.
