with Donkie Kung Jr, the top three devices (IIIc, V and Vx) take up
55.5% of the total count. now, there are still 44 Palm Professional
device uses. its probably safe to assume only a few have performed
the memory upgrade -> 3.0, but this is a TINY percentage :))
we also need to consider that the SONY and new Visors were just
introduced, and since this report goes back to July - those figures
are not proportional.

my baseline is 2.0 - unless i need to use a 3.0 specific call. there is
already many instances in my code that says (if 3.5+, do this) - as i
found a number of inconsistencies between 3.0 -> 3.1 -> 3.3 -> 3.5
(just minor, but they are there).
the introduction of the Visor was really a nail in the coffin. if it
was not for these types of devices (non flashable) - we would be able
to set the standard to at least 3.3 (people can get that upgrade for
free).. but, its a decision that has been made :))
but then again, even if there was an upgrade available, how many people
will actually bother with it (3.0 works for most people on III devices)
3.0 is the absolute minimum if you intend to develop. support 2.0 if
you can, and if you dont have to twist your arm to do so :)) Palm does
not sell devices running 2.0 - so you can use this as a baseline too.
cheers
