For a small company, $80K/programmer is currently outrageous,
even on the west coast. But for any company that has been
around for a while, they'll have at least $40K/programmer
overhead.
That doesn't bring the cost down to $4. You're forgetting about
all those other expenses that I listed.
Of course, the majority of palm games are written by individuals
on their own time. So anything they make is often treated as
found money.

I've always thought that the free open source software
people went overboard. If I was making money with
using Pilrc, I wouldn't have any problem donating $10
to Aaron.
