        For community building, yes indeed.

Never call names as they always backfire. I await DBI (Direct Brain
Interface)so I can get this straight in and not have to rely on
imprecise words to communicate my intent. I am about as far from Luddite
as possible but that does not change facts. If we are to have a strong
community we can nor break into smaller groups to do it. It has to do
with societal dynamics and core human behaviours, not a bit of tech in
the lot of it.

No, they do exactly what they are intended to do. They are like a book
and the nature of sought knowledge, as opposed to community, is to be
available after some labour (even opening a book or scroll is a labour).
But, unlike forums, they do not demand you sign up or log in. Websites
may point ways to community building but they are outside the meme so
not germane to the discussion

No need for vindication. Facts are facts regardless of who communicates
them.
At the same time no need for personal attacks or sarcasm. I am not
Galileo and you are not the Inquisition despite being in similar positions.

                                                                cat
