The original was a product of its time and maker and any attempt to
seriously redo it would just be tragic. Remember that "accurate" remake
of "Psycho"?

That would be truly terrifying since he is deceased. Ah, wait a zombie
version of "Westworld". Now that would SELL!!

Ledger played a great "Nihilist" or "Lunatic" but he didn't even
vaguely approach the Joker. The script never let him even try.
