You are right John,

In Canada the metric system has been in common use since the earlier
80's, teaching in schools began late 70's, but we still use a lot of
Imperial measures, lumber sizes , PAPER size, this may be due to
import/export south of the border.

I would included both but using the fraction with the imperial, not
the decimals.
