Dear all, thanks a lot for your helpful replies ! I will give the dimensions both in imperial and metric values since it is not a big deal for me. What surprises me is that the subdivision of inches are still given in halfs, quarters and so on. On the other hand, the strength of the imperial system is that you can easily do basic calculations without any device. This advantage would vanish if you would switch to metric fractions of inches.
